We play high energy music from the American big band scene of the late 1930s and 40s associated with the Harlem lindyhop (dance) culture that grew alongside it.

These bands were run by enigmatic band-leaders like Benny Goodman, Chick Webb, Cab Calloway, Gene Krupa, Woody Herman, Jimmy Lunceford, Artie Shaw, Count Basie and of course, Duke Ellington.

Unlike most other 'swing' bands we shy away from the 'Rat Pack' style ballroom music of the 1950s. You won't find any Frank Sinatra or Bobby Darrin in our pad I'm afraid!

Check out this following diary extract from our leader's eagerly-awaited memoirs, 'The King's Speech.' It includes some of the tunes we do, helpfully highlighted in wobbly multi-coloured letters!
